Even if you are already fully employed, you may be interested in some home based business income opportunities to supplement your current earnings. It must be a sign of the times, but a lot of people these days want ways to top up their existing incomes. After all, the bills never seem to stop coming in. There is always the electricity, taxes and mortgage to pay; they just never seem to come to an end.
With that in mind I have put together a list of seven totally different home based business income opportunities for you to consider. Not that any one of them will be suitable for you, but one of them might just spark an idea in your mind.
1. Christmas window stencils
This is a very easy way to earn a little extra income over the Christmas period. Decorate businesses’ windows with Christmas designs. Use pre-cut stencils and simply spray paint over the top for a professional looking finish. Use cans of spray paint that will easily be removed after the Christmas period. You could also offer an additional service whereby you will come and scrape off the painted window stencil for your client after the Christmas shopping period has finished. There are lots of royal-free images on the internet of Santa, toys, candles, bells, buntings and other Christmas themes for you to get ideas from.
2. Wallpaper hanger
Offer a service hanging people’s wallpaper for them. Charge by the drop, and keep a folder of letters from satisfied clients for use as references. If you have expertise in the painting field, you could also offer to paint their ceilings and skirting boards to give a better finish to the room.
3. Do Bronzing
Start a business making bronzed momentous, such as awards and trophies. Design plaques and unique bases with emphasis on local needs such as chamber of commerce of company awards. Arrange for engraved plates on plaques.
4. Apply wedding make-up
If you have a talent for applying makeup and/or are trained in this area, start a business specializing in wedding make-up. Sell the cosmetic products you use as another service and offer gift certificates that can be purchased to give to others as gifts. There are lots of business opportunities associated with weddings, so maybe you could combine a couple of ideas to make the venture even more financially viable.
5. Make cement blocks
Mold small orders of standard or custom blocks (building, stepping stones, curbs) in all shapes and colors. Make molds when necessary of plywood and tin. Take orders, sell form your “yard” and through garden shops and nurseries.
6. Client listings and database management
On your computer, input and maintain customer (or business) information: customer info, purchases, credit records, employee information, etc. Provide periodic and custom sorts (including mailing lists) to clients.
7. Liquid embroidery
Learning how to do liquid embroidery is not difficult. If you have an eye for color and are creative you could start a business using liquid embroidery to personalize pillow cases, duvets, tee-shirts, curtains and many other fabric surfaces. Liquid embroidery pens and starter kits are available from hobby and craft stores. Most kids like to see their name personalized on items.
